About HSP

Heritage Search Partners (HSP) is the search fund investment arm of Heritage Holding — a Boston-based investment firm that's been buying, building, and growing companies for over a decade.

We’re not just investors, we’re operators who’ve been in the trenches, scaling platforms across several B2B services industries. We back search funds, independent sponsors, long-term holdcos, and entrepreneurs filling equity gaps. We strive to support talented entrepreneurs over the long-term.

We’re also building our own platforms through Heritage Holding (10 platforms and ~35 total acquisitions across our majority buyout fund), so we can provide you with sharper insights, more battle-tested advice, and a network you can tap into from day one.

Our Search Roots

Our roots in the search fund community run deep.

In 2015 after graduating from HBS, Alex de Pfyffer and Ross Porter founded Heritage Holding which started as a self-funded search vehicle that resulted in the acquisition of Maicom, a critical infrastructure services company based in North Andover, MA.

At acquisition, Maicom had 6 locations, 120 employees, and 90% customer concentration with the Comcast Corporation. Over the next four years, Alex & Ross grew revenue ~3x, completed 4 add-on acquisitions, opened a Canadian operation, and diversified the client concentration to ~35%.

In August 2021, Maicom was acquired by the Audax Group, representing a 16.2x Gross MOIC / 10x Net MOIC outcome, putting Alex & Ross on the map as talented small business builders.
