Advisors

Ari Axelrod

Ari advises the Heritage Holding team on transactions related to clinical trials, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare services. He also advises on matters related to post-acquisition transition, post-merger integration, and platform creation. He is currently a Senior Corporate Fellow at the Tufts Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. Previously, he founded Boston Clinical Trials and has served various leadership roles across corporate strategy and finance, including tenures at the Boston Consulting Group and Lehman Brothers. Ari holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Dudley Slater

Dudley advises the Heritage Holding team on transactions related to broadband connectivity, telecommunication infrastructure, and fiber optics. He currently sits on the boards of directors of Segra and Lumos – a subsidiary of Segra (one of the largest independent US fiber bandwidth companies in the USA). Dudley also sits on several other corporate boards, serves as an industry advisor to infra PE-firm EQT Partners, and previously founded Integra Telecom which sold to Zayo for $1.42B. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelors of Science in Applied Geophysics from UCLA.

Mickey Alpert

Mickey advises the Heritage Holding team on transactions related to broadcasting, media, and telecommunications broadly. He leveraged his +45 years of experience with satellite and cable to launch Merisco, a consulting company focused on strategic opportunities within the broader TMT sector. He is a former executive at Cablevision System Corporation working directly for Chairman and founder, Charles Dolan as his senior strategic advisor, and a board member of various telecom and media companies. Mickey holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and an AB in Economics (with Honors) from Cornell University. He is also a CPA.

Octavio Morales

Octavio advises the Heritage Holding team on transactions dealing with data center markets, critical data transport infrastructure, semiconductors, and IT managed services. As former CEO & Partner, he led regional data center TierPoint’s transformation into a premier cloud services provider in the Pacific Northwest with 40 world-class data centers in 20 markets and oversaw its eventual acquisition by Cequel. Prior to that, he held executive positions across several optic broadband and networking startups, many of which have gone on to be acquired. Beyond his historical record of serial entrepreneurship, Octavio continues to operate at the cutting-edge of data center evolution today as an angel investor.

Jake Miller

Jake Miller has over 30 years of experience in the telecommunications industry and serves as a Senior Advisor for Heritage Holding. Prior to joining Heritage Holding, Mr. Miller served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development for Segra during a period of 3x growth between 2013 and 2021. Prior to joining Segra, he served as Chief Financial Officer for Transcom Enhanced Services from 2007 to 2013, and as Vice President of Strategy and Business Development from 1998 to 2007 for TelCove, and for Level 3 Communications after they acquired TelCove. Prior to that, he served as Financial Director of Wireless and Cable Operations from 1990 to 1998 for Adelphia Communications, and as Audit Manager with Ernst & Young from 1984 to 1990.

Joseph Harding

Joe Harding currently serves as the Chief Revenue and Strategy Officer for Inside Packet, an early-stage Network-as-a-Service platform company and as a board director for FusionConnect, a managed networking and communications provider.
Joe has held several executive level roles in both the digital infrastructure and MSP sectors. Most recently as global vice president, product and solution marketing at Equinix, the world’s largest datacenter and interconnection provider.
Previously, Harding served as a board member for QOS Networks, a leading managed SD-WAN provider, sold to the Zayo Group in 2022. He served as executive vice president and chief marketing and product officer at both Windstream Communications and ElectricLightwave (ELI). Joe was part of the core executive team at ELI that led its successful turn-around and sale to Zayo Group.
Earlier in his career, Harding joined Level 3 Communications at the pre-revenue stage and went onto lead all product development globally for over a decade. He earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Matt Meier

Matt Meier brings more than 25 years of experience across a variety of industries and disciplines within the IT, digital, and data domains. Meier joined Driven Brands in October 2021 as EVP and Chief Digital and Data Officer, where he oversees the company’s technology, digital, and data strategies to transform business operations and digital customer experience. Prior to Driven Brands, Meier spent five years with Whirlpool Corporation, expanding their offerings to include industry-leading IoT “connected” appliance experiences, expanding direct-to-consumer digital platforms, and leading Whirlpool’s global data and advanced analytics competency. Meier also served as Chief Information Officer for Whirlpool North America, a $12B business and Whirlpool’s largest business segment. Prior to Whirlpool, Meier served as Global Chief Information Officer at the CrosbyGroup and held technology leadership roles of increasing responsibility for Dana Corporation, RollsRoyce, General Motors, and PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
Meier has a BS in Industrial Engineering from Purdue, an MS in Information Systems Management from Carnegie Mellon University, and an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management.
